Academy Officers and Council
A Council, a group of 19 elected Academy Fellows,
governs the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Chaired by the Academy
President, it meets twice a year to review and set policy regarding all aspects
of the Academy's operations. The members of the Council include two Fellows
from each of the five classes, one at-large representative, and the Academy's
principal officers: President, Vice President, two regional Vice Presidents,
Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Treasurer, Editor, and Chief Executive
Officer. Past Presidents of the Academy serve ex officio.
