The United States has a history of innovation in the sciences. However, as the research ecosystem and the economic climate begin to shift, government, industry, and universities must adapt by reexamining their funding practices and institutional structures. The ARISE II project is developing actionable recommendations to sustain a competitive U.S. research enterprise. This work will foster new relationships across the disciplines and between the private and public sectors.
