Roger W. Ferguson, Jr. (19 min.) is President and Chief Executive Officer of TIAA-CREF. He served as Vice Chairman of the Board of Governors of the U.S. Federal Reserve System, was a voting member of the Federal Open Market Committee, served as Chairman of the Financial Stability Forum, and chaired Federal Reserve Board committees on banking supervision and regulation, payment system policy and reserve bank oversight. Prior to joining TIAA-CREF in April 2008, he was head of financial services for Swiss Re, Chairman of Swiss Re America Holding Corporation and a member of the company’s executive committee. From 1984 to 1997, he was an Associate and Partner at McKinsey & Company. He began his career as an attorney at the New York City office of Davis Polk & Wardwell. He is a member of President Obama’s Economic Recovery Advisory Board and served on the Transition Economic Advisory Board. He is also a member of the Boards of Trustees for the Institute for Advanced Study, Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, the New America Foundation, and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. He is on the Board of Directors of Brevan Howard Asset Management LLP and the Partnership for New York City, and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, the Economic Club of New York, the Harvard Law School Visiting Committee, and the Group of Thirty.

Rajat K. Gupta (20 min.) has been Senior Partner Emeritus of McKinsey & Company since January, 2008. He previously served as McKinsey & Company’s Senior Partner Worldwide from 2003 to 2007 and as Worldwide Managing Director from 1994 to 2003. Prior to that, starting in 1973, he held a variety of positions at McKinsey & Company. He served as the United Nations Secretary–General’s Special Advisor on UN Reform; he is an independent director of Goldman Sachs, Procter & Gamble, AMR Corporation, Harman International, and Qatar Financial Centre; and is the Chairman of the Board of Genpact and New Silk Route Private Equity. He serves on the Board of Rockefeller Foundation and was recently elected a member of the Supervisory Board of Sberbank. He is Chairman Emeritus of The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria; Chairman of the Board of the Indian School of Business; a member of the Advisory Board at Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management; and Co-chair of the American India Foundation. He was elected a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts & Sciences in 2009.
