Sara Hebel

Sara Hebel is the Co-Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Open Campus, a nonprofit newsroom focused on improving the coverage of college for communities. She helps manage the organization's growth, develops editorial and funding partnerships, and oversees editorial operations, including relationships with Open Campus's local newsroom partners. A former long-time editor at The Chronicle of Higher Education, Sara has more than two decades of experience as a newsroom leader and higher-education journalist.
