Democratic Citizenship: A Discussion with the Commission’s Leaders and Academy Members

On June 11th, the Academy’s Commission on the Practice of Democratic Citizenship released Our Common Purpose: Reinventing American Democracy for the 21st Century, a report recommending sweeping reforms to strengthen the nation’s political institutions, civil society, and civic culture. Academy members were invited to join the Commission’s Cochairs for an opportunity to discuss questions about Our Common Purpose and participate in a lively conversation.
