The Internet and Engaged Citizenship
Please join the Washington, D.C. Program Committee for a roundtable discussion with David Karpf (George Washington University) on The Internet and Engaged Citizenship. As the 2020 election approaches, the nation is grappling with questions about the role of digital media in civic participation, political polarization, public misinformation, and public accountability. Does the internet hurt or help? Who does it empower, and who does it disenfranchise? A conversation about these issues and more will connect with the ongoing work of the Academy’s Commission on the Practice of Democratic Citizenship.
