Prior to joining the Academy as a Hellman Fellow for Science and Technology Policy, Kelsey was a postdoctoral research associate at Brown University where she also completed her Ph.D. studying C. elegans sleep and fatigue behavior. During graduate school, she worked as an associate editor at the Journal of Science Policy and Governance and was involved in several committees and student initiatives, including cofounding a nonacademic career seminar series for life sciences graduate students. Kelsey holds a Ph.D. from Brown University in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, and Biochemistry and a B.S. and B.A. from Syracuse University in Biology and Psychology, respectively.
