Leo Curran is the John E. Bryson Program Director for Science, Engineering, and Technology. In this role, Leo leads a portfolio of work at the Academy including projects on Accelerating Climate Action, the Challenges for International Scientific Partnerships, and the Public Face of Science.

Prior to the Academy, Leo worked at The Pew Charitable Trusts, where he designed an initiative to help researchers inform conservation action. He previously led similar programs at The Nature Conservancy and START International Inc. Leo has facilitated numerous workshops aiming to understand and evaluate the use of research evidence in decision making with academics, decision makers, and donors. Leo has a PhD and MS in geography from The Pennsylvania State University and a BA with dual majors in communication and media studies and environmental studies.
