Statement from National Humanities Alliance
On Becoming a Champion for Our Common Purpose
The National Humanities Alliance and the American Academy of Arts & Sciences share the belief that humanistic knowledge, research, and teaching are needed to heal factionalism and redress inequality in the United States. We look forward to working with the American Academy of Arts & Sciences to design multiple paths of engagement for colleges and universities in the work outlined in Our Common Purpose – particularly involving humanities scholars who have long worked toward the vision it articulates. The National Humanities Alliance especially looks forward to aligning our efforts and actively partnering to implement recommendations under Strategy 6: Inspire a Culture of Commitment to American Constitutional Democracy and One Another.
