Rhode to Prosperity
Rhode to Prosperity is an initiative increasing Rhode Islanders’ incomes by modernizing state job training pathways, including experiential learning.
Program Description:
Rhode to Prosperity is Rhode Island’s statewide effort, ushered in by Governor McKee’s Administration, to raise incomes and personal wealth for Rhode Islanders. The State will develop Rhode to Prosperity alongside employers, educational institutions, labor leaders, and other important stakeholders to ensure Rhode Islanders have a clear path to higher wages and economic development.
Education and training opportunities will be focused on sectors such as construction, offshore wind, life sciences, cybersecurity, AI, and more to bridge the gap between skill development and emerging job opportunities. The state hopes to develop viable pathways to higher wage jobs within these sectors, ultimately building long-term pathways that lead to improved income generation.
Impact:
Higher wage jobs for Rhode Islanders lead to economic success, providing a higher quality of life and the opportunity to become a homeowner. The state looks at economic progress in their state as providing better opportunities for Rhode Islanders to become skilled, technical, and credentialed workers.
Population Served:
The state hopes to serve all Rhode Islanders with the Rhode to Prosperity as it develops from 2025-2030, ultimately providing inter-generational wealth development to families across the state.
