Education at Work, Northern Kentucky University, and Paycor Partnership

Program Description:  

Education at Work (EAW) is a national nonprofit that partners with colleges and universities to provide flexible, paid work experience for students. Their work-based learning programs are focused on career success, building durable skills, and empowering students financially. They provide financial assistance to all students who participate in their programs, through both tuition assistance and providing competitive wages.  

EAW partners with employers across sectors to develop workforce programs for their students while helping employers’ future-proof their workforce. One partnership between EAW, Northern Kentucky University, and Paycor, a human capital management platform provider, provides more than 200 on campus part-time jobs for students at an on campus contact center. Like all EAW programs, students participating in this partnership will be compensated for their work and receive up to $6,000 in tuition assistance per year. 

Impact:  

EAW has served 9,307 students since 2012, paying out over $119 million in student wages and tuition assistance. Beyond financial assistance, their programs equip students with durable skills, such as communication, professionalism, problem solving, and critical thinking. As a result, students’ confidence grows and they feel more prepared for the workforce. 

Population Served:  

EAW works with students across the country. 51% of EAW students are first-generation college students, 58% are Pell-eligible, and 81% identify as students of color. EAW also works in areas where students and employers alike struggle with career readiness.
