Program Description: 

OhioMeansJobs (OMJ) is an online job-matching program from the Ohio Office of Workforce Development. In addition to serving as a central, nonprofit database of jobs and internships that are currently hiring, Ohio residents can also upload their resumes for employers to find. 
 
The website features a career navigator, which targets learners transitioning to the workforce and people intending to switch careers. The career navigator includes a survey that connects job seekers with customized resources and helps to match them with appropriate jobs. Importantly, the tool includes information about how a new job may impact or meet requirements for the workers’ public benefits. It also provides information on career pathways to learners who may still be choosing the best path for their future. 
 
While OMJ serves workers of all ages, there is a specific program that targets workers aged 14-24 by addressing barriers that make schooling more difficult. It connects them with resources that can help with food and housing insecurity and offers small scholarships to high school seniors who will be attending college. 
 
The OMJ website also offers WorkKeys, which allows job seekers to measure and validate specific skills and display the results on their resume. It also connects people with local employment programs that provide funding for skills training. OMJ also hosts both in-person and online interview and resume workshops in conjunction with The Ohio State University.
