The Attainment Network

Program Description:

The Attainment Network is a Colorado-based nonprofit organization that builds networks of educators, learners, earners, employers, philanthropists, nonprofits, communities, and government leaders to strengthen education-to-career systems across the state. Acting as an intermediary, they bring partners together to create clear pathways that equip learners with both the formal education and the hands-on experiences employers value—creating economic mobility for learners while meeting critical workforce needs.

Impact:

The Attainment Network helped form cross-sector partnerships in Aurora, Colorado to meet an increased demand for workers in healthcare and construction. These partnerships have helped increase the number of workers who attain industry credentials and doubled the number of people partaking in apprenticeships, internships, and other career-connected activities. Aurora has also seen a 23 percent increase in concurrent enrollment among high school students, including a 32 percent increase in Hispanic students pursuing concurrent enrollment. (In Colorado, dual enrollment for high school students earning college credit is called concurrent enrollment.)

In Denver, The Attainment Network has worked to better align high school and higher education in the area with workforce needs. The Denver Partnership has led to a 15 percent increase in students participating in aligned work-based learning experiences. The impact of this network also extends beyond the state’s capital city by facilitating collaboration between state agencies across K-12, higher education, and workforce development.  

Across the rural San Luis Valley, the Attainment Network has created a coordinated healthcare talent pipeline that connects learners to education, training, and employment opportunities while helping employers address workforce shortages. Through strong regional partnerships, the initiative has opened doors for hundreds of learners to explore healthcare careers, earn industry-recognized credentials, participate in work-based learning, and advance along career pathways. The result is a growing pipeline of skilled healthcare professionals prepared to serve their communities and strengthen the region’s healthcare system for years to come.
