The Ash Center Presents Our Common Purpose: Reinventing American Democracy for the 21st Century

The Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation and the American Academy of Arts & Sciences held a discussion of Our Common Purpose, a report issued by the Commission on the Practice of Democratic Citizenship. Launched by the Academy in 2018, the Commission spent two years engaging with communities all over the U.S. to explore how best to respond to the weaknesses and vulnerabilities in our political and civic life.
