We invite you and a guest to join members of the American Academy for a social reception and panel discussion.

During the past 30 years, Los Angeles has made significant investments in cultural institutions, becoming a world leading arts hub that has attracted a remarkable array of artists, writers, filmmakers, actors, dancers, and musicians. On March 3, please join members of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences for a conversation about the arts in Los Angeles with Katherine Fleming (The J. Paul Getty Trust), Michael Govan (Los Angeles County Museum of Art), Sandra Jackson-Dumont (Lucas Museum of Narrative Art) and Academy President David Oxtoby. They will examine this rapid growth and discuss interdisciplinary projects such as PST ART: Art & Science Collide.

Members who wish to visit the Getty Museum may arrive as early as 3:00 p.m.; at 5:30 p.m. we will gather in the Museum Lecture Hall to welcome newly elected members and hold the panel discussion; and a reception will follow. The event is hosted by the Los Angeles Program Committee.
