An Evening at the Studio Museum in Harlem
The Academy's New York Committee invites you and a guest to a special-access evening at the Studio Museum in Harlem. Long recognized for its commitment to artists of African descent and its deep connection to the cultural life of Harlem, the Museum's stunning new home reflects a vision of the museum not only as a place to exhibit art, but also to nurture artistic practice, foster dialogue, and welcome community.
The evening will begin with a reception and the opportunity to connect with fellow Academy members, followed by an introduction to the Museum and the thinking behind its new building and visitor experience. Guests will then enjoy an exclusive opportunity to view the exhibitions while the Museum is closed to the public.
We hope you will join fellow members for an evening exploring how institutions like the Studio Museum create space for new voices, deepen public understanding, and enrich our civic and cultural life.
