Update on Academy Activities Due to COVID-19

This is a brief update on the Academy’s activities during the COVID-19 outbreak, including adjustments that have been made to our operations to help ensure the safety of members and staff.

Academy staff are working remotely.
We continue to make progress on projects, publications, and the new member election process. Meetings with members and other experts are being held virtually.
The Academy's online staff directory provides contact information.

We are in the process of completing the 2020 election cycle.  New members are expected to be announced in late April.
Nominations for the 2021 election cycle are now being accepted and members are encouraged to log in to participate. The deadline for submitting nominations is June 30, 2020. Please reach out to with any questions.

There will be no in-person Academy events before July 1, 2020. We will reassess the advisability of in-person convenings in the weeks ahead.

Even while we practice social distancing, connections can be made on social media. The Academy is on Twitter and Facebook and shares event videos on YouTube.

Topics of recent events videos include Criminal Justice as Social Justice, the Global Refugee Crisis, innovations in rural arts, and a series of talks from our convening on the practice of democratic citizenship.

We will be reassessing our options and plans as more information becomes available. This page will be updated with new developments.
