The Academy has launched a new podcast called Amacad, where Academy President speaks with Academy members about their lives and work. The first season includes six episodes that highlight leaders in the arts, public service, the sciences, and scholarship—all united by a shared commitment to excellence and exploration.
The Amacad guests on the inaugural season:
- Professor of psychology and researcher David Dunning
- Physician-scientist and government leader Anthony Fauci
- Musician and composer Rhiannon Giddens
- Historian and author Jill Lepore
- Military Leader and author James Mattis
- Atmospheric scientist and science communicator J. Marshall Shepherd
Jazz bassist, teacher, and Academy member Rodney Whitaker provided music for the podcast.
Every episode includes an in-depth conversation followed by a spotlight on related moment from the Academy’s 246-year history. Finding aids, documents, letters, and galleries are among the things available online in the Archives.
