A’Lelia Bundles is an author and journalist who loves history as much as she loves current events. A former producer and executive with ABC News and NBC News, she has written four biographies about her great-great-grandmother, Madam C. J. Walker, the early 20th century entrepreneur, and A’Lelia Walker, a central figure of the Harlem Renaissance. On Her Own Ground was the "inspiration" for "Self Made," a 4-part fictional Netflix series. Among the non-profit boards on which she serves are the National Archives Foundation, Columbia University’s Board of Trustees and the Radcliffe Institute’s Schlesinger Library at Harvard.
