Our research functions on the biology of cells, specifically baker's yeast. We are interested in discovering general principles that underlie the function and evolution of cells, as revealed by studying three areas: 1) how cells respond to sudden starvation or refeeding, 2) whether cells store and act on information from their past experience, and 3) how cells evolve in the laboratory in response to selective pressure.
