Hill’s work has significantly impacted awareness and reforms towards educational and professional equity regardless of gender or race. Her widely-known publications on these topics include Speaking Truth to Power (1998) and Reimagining Equality: Stories of Gender, Race, and Finding Home (2011), as well as articles appearing in scholarly journals and the popular press. Her Gender/Race Imperative project engages academics and business professionals in developing legal and policy reforms towards educational equity, including in STEM fields. She also chairs the Commission on Eliminating Sexual Harassment and Enhancing Equality in the Workplace, which aims to eliminate sexual harassment and bias in the entertainment industry.
