Arno J. Mayer

Professor Arno J. Mayer is the Dayton-Stockton Professor of History, Emeritus at Princeton University. Prior to 1961 when he joined the Princeton faculty, Professor Mayer had teaching appointments at Wesleyan University, Brandeis University, and Harvard University. Professor Mayer's field is Modern Europe with research interests centered on the Holocaust and European Political History during the 19th and 20th century. Some of his well known publications include, "The Furies: Violence and Terror in the French and Russian Revolutions" and "The Persistence of the Old Regime: Europe to the Great War."
