Pioneered the first signal analog to digital conversion technology, digital air traffic control and fetal monitoring systems and the first 3-D, multi-slice dual-energy explosive detection CT system in airports nationwide. Founder and Chairman of the Board, Analogic Corporation. Chairman of the Board of Directors, Lahey Clinic. Owner of more than 200 patents. Awarded the National Medal of Technology in 1986. Enabled the establishment of educational and medical initiatives, including: The Gordon Institute at Tufts University, The Gordon Prize for educational innovation at the National Academy of Engineering, Professorships of Medical Imaging and of Engineering Practice at MIT.
