Bertha Johnson

Bertha Johnson is the Deputy City Manager for the City of Durham, North Carolina. In this role, Bertha oversees Durham's operations departments which provide core services to residents. Previously, Bertha oversaw the administrative and support departments for the City, including Audit, Finance, Budget and Management Services, Human Resources, and Equity and Inclusion.
Prior to joining the City in 2005, Bertha served as finance director for the City of Roxboro, N.C. and the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Elon University and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from North Carolina Central University.
