Work in visual neuroscience uses neuroimaging and behavior testing to understand the action of visual portions of the brain. Empirical and theoretical work on color vision resolved longstanding mysteries about how wavelength distributions on the retina culminate in perception of surface. Current research applies measurement methodologies to study brain development; one study focuses on how children identify and classify visual signals when they learn to read.
