Conceived and led a series of K-meson experiments to elucidate the origin of the matter-antimatter asymmetry in nature. Reaching the needed sensitivity required precise understanding of the detector's characteristics. The work culminated in the unambiguous observation of a new type of matter-antimatter asymmetry, that in the K-meson decay process.
