Our overall goal is to understand the molecular mechanisms that mediate and coordinate the multiple reactions that are required for the faithful replication of a chromosome. Toward achieving this goal we use structure studies of the individual proteins, their functional sub-assemblies, and the replisome itself combined with genetic and biochemical analyses of the reactions they mediate. An essential part of these studies is to define the protein-protein interactions that coordinate the individual steps.
