Research centers on philosophy of logic and mathematics and on certain historical figures, in particular Kant. In earlier years he worked in proof theory, a branch of mathematical logic. Philosophical writings concern the relation of logic and mathematics, the notions of object and structure, prediction and truth, intuition, the concepts of number and set.
