Dacher Keltner

Dacher Keltner is a leading scientist of emotions in evolutionary and cultural context: their influences on judgment, their social functions, and their expression, with particular emphasis on the positive emotions of compassion, gratitude, awe, embarrassment (appeasement), laughter, and pride. More recently he has made major contributions to the study of power, hierarchy, and social class. He has served as Associate Editor for three major journals and received numerous awards for both research and teaching. He is the founder and director of Berkeley’s Greater Good Science Center.
