Daniel Stid
Daniel Stid is a Senior Fellow at the American Enterprise Institute (AEI), where his work focuses on civil society, philanthropy, and democratic governance. Before joining AEI, he served as the executive director of Lyceum Labs, a nonprofit focused on improving political leadership at the state and local levels, and he advised philanthropists seeking to improve civic life in America. Previously, he was the inaugural director of the U.S. Democracy grantmaking program at the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation and a visiting fellow at Johns Hopkins University’s SNF Agora Institute. He is the author of The President as Statesman: Woodrow Wilson and the Constitution (1998) and currently publishes The Art of Association, a fortnightly newsletter on philanthropy, civil society, and democracy in America.
