Darryl Holliday

Darryl Holliday is Cofounder and Partner of the Commoner Company, a consultancy making civic life more accessible and inspired, and Lead Steward at News Futures, a “do”-ocratic community of practice anchored on civic media values and practices. He cofounded City Bureau in 2015, a Pulitzer Prize–winning civic media lab, where, as Co-Executive Director of National Impact, he designed participatory programs, projects, and platforms such as the Documenters Network. He is the author of, most recently, This Is Local News Now: Rethinking Who Creates, Shares, and Sustains It (with Anika Anand, 2025) and the Roadmap for Local News: An Emergent Approach to Meeting Civic Information Needs (with Elizabeth Green and Mike Rispoli, 2023). He also coauthored and coedited the Civic Media Magazine (with Mike Rispoli, 2025).
