Conducted the first serious work, with Aaron Klug, on Fourier reconstruction of electron microscope images of viruses and decorated actin, etc. Did work on the structures of bacterial flagella, the bacterial chemotactic signaling machinery, and the actin cytoskeleton. Currently am interested in cryo electron and cryo light micrscopies.
