Mr. David S. Ferriero is the Archivist of the United States for the National Archives and Records Administration. He was appointed the tenth Archivist of the United States on November 6, 2009 and prior to his appointment, he served as the Andrew W. Mellon Director of the New York Public Libraries. From 1996 to 2004, Ferriero served as the Rita DiGiallonardo Holloway University Librarian and Vice Provost for Library Affairs at Duke University. From 1965 to 1996, he worked in the MIT library system, starting as a junior assistant and rising to Acting Director of Libraries.
