Emerita Professor Elmegreen studies the morphology and evolution of galaxies with optical, near-infrared, and radio wavelength telescopes, including nearby flocculent galaxies and high redshift clumpy galaxies. Elmegreen has a distinguished record of leadership and served as President of the International Astronomical Union, President of the American Astronomical Society, Chair of the AURA Board, and on the Astro2010 Decadal Survey Committee.
