King has a distinguished academic record. His scholarly research has appeared in the profession's top journals and university presses, making major contributions in the study of racial inequality and immigration in the U.S., liberalism and comparative welfare, and urban politics. King has taken on diverse academic leadership roles, including serving as the UK Delegate to Oxford University Press for twelve years. He holds the Mellon chair at Oxford and is an Associate Member of Sciences Po Paris.
