Elena V. Paducheva
The areas of Paducheva’s scientific research included: application of mathematical methods to language studies; interaction of logical and linguistic approaches to natural language syntax and semantics; communicative and pragmatic aspects of Russian grammar; semantics of quantification; tense and aspect of the Russian verb; the structure of narrative. She wrote several books on semantics of syntax and transformational approach to syntax; logical analysis of language; linguistic theory of reference and referential semantics of deixis; semantics and typology of tense and aspect; semantic structure of narrative; dynamic models in semantics of lexicon; syntax and semantics of negation; and egocentricity. Her later research concerned computer lexicography and elaboration of lexical databases, aiming at revealing interactions between grammar and lexicon and presenting lexicon as a system.
