Katzir was one of the first to work on immobilized enzymes. His later work focused on peptides: their synthesis, physico-chemical and biological characteristics. He also concentrated on the elucidation of the factors determining biological specificity and the clarification of the nature of protein-protein interactions at the atomic level.
