Fritz Graf is Distinguished University Professor and Director of Epigraphy at the Ohio State University. He is one of the leading authorities on religion and magic in the ancient Mediterranean. His book Magic in the Ancient World (1997) has appeared in five languages. He has also published Roman Festivals in the Greek East (2014), Apollo (2008), Ritual Texts for the Afterlife (jointly, 2008), Greek Mythology (1993), Nordionische Kulte (1985), and Eleusis und die orphische Dichtung Athens (1974). Before joining OSU, where he served as Chair, he taught at Princeton and Basel, and has had Guggenheim and ACLS fellowships.
