Research has focused on the study of strong and electro-weak interactions through colliding-beam experiments, both electron-positron and proton-proton. He is presently a member of the ATLAS Collaboration at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN. He is also the President-Elect of the American Physical Society, and will succeed to the presidency in January 2001.
