Gisela von Wobeser Hoepfner is a Professor of Philosophy and Letters and Researcher Emeritus within the Institute of Historical Research at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. Hoepfner's research centers on New Spain, on which she has published multiple books and articles.

She is the recipient of the Guggenheim Fellowship.

Hoepfner received her B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. from National Autonomous University of Mexico.
