Gordon N. Gill is Professor of Medicine and of Cellular and Molecular Medicine Emeritus at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine. A member of the UCSD faculty since 1969, he has served as Dean of Science, Dean of Translational Medicine, Director of the College of Integrative Life Sciences, Chief of the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism, and Chair of the Faculty of Basic Biomedical Sciences. His research studies are related to hormone action and signal transduction, the molecular mechanism through which information is received and translated into biological responses. He is a member of the Association of American Physicians, the American Society for Clinical Investigation, the American Society of Biological Chemistry, and other professional organizations. He was elected a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 1995.
