Guy Rocher

His research centered on sociology of law, of ethics and other forms of normative social regulation (technical, administrative, professional, ideological). In the field of health and medicine, he published and conducted research on the introduction of new medical technologies, the various normative uses of bioethics, the doctors’ and nurses’ attitudes toward death, and the regulation of research in genetics. He also wrote extensively on human rights, citizenship and globalization, aboriginal rights, sociological jurisprudence, and the Quebec society.
