Earlier research focused on sperm metabolism and regulation of capacitation, including the discovery of the caltrin proteins. Current research involves the metabolic conversion of dehydroepianodrosterone (DHEA) to more active steroid that that are involved in regulating the immune system, memory, and energy metabolism of experimental animals.
