Contributions to electrochemistry, including electron-transfer studies using electrodes of nanometer scale. Elucidated the role of interfacial fields on electrochemistry of molecular films. In bioanalytical chemistry, developed methods to visualize iontophoretic drug transport paths in skin and invented glass membrane nanopore platforms for ion channel recordings.
