International reputation as one of the world's most productive and dedicated members of the fluid mechanics community. Published more than 400 articles in top journals. Winner of the inaugural award of the Batchelor Prize in Fluid Mechanics, sponsored by the Journal of Fluid Mechanics. Publications cover a wide range of topics within the area of micro-fluidics and the flow of complex fluids, including: chaotic mixing, the generation of mono-disperse, micro-scale droplets and bubbles, the deformation and break-up of drops and bubbles under shear, the dynamics of the flow of thin films and foams, the influence of flow on bacteria and biofilms, and many more.
