I am currently Director-General of the European Molecular Biology Laboratory, and international organisation with 21 European Member States and two non-European Associate Members. The laboratory provides a unique mix of fundamental research, infrastructure and service provision to the scientific community, advanced science training, technology development and science policy and strategy development on an international scale.
