Specialty
Chemistry
Elected
2016
Warner is an educator and researcher in chemistry and materials science, whose pioneering studies of multiple fluorescence phenomena for analytical chemistry have contributed to his field. His applications of ionic liquid chemistry to solid phase organic-based materials, which he terms GUMBOS (group of uniform materials based on organic salts), have provided novel applications for tunable nanoparticles (nanoGUMBOS), sensors, biomaterials, and energy. Warner is also a champion of diversity in higher education. In 2014, The American Chemical Society Division of Professional Relations honored him with the Henry Hill Award for Outstanding Contributions to Professionalism.
