Jahnavi Rao

Jahnavi Rao is President and Founder of New Voters, a youth-led 501(c)3 that empowers high school students through nonpartisan near-peer mentorship, voter registration drives, community-driven advocacy initiatives, and youth-led research on political behavior. Since she started New Voters in 2017 as a junior in high school, New Voters has run over one thousand high school voter registration drives and civically engaged tens of thousands of high school students across forty-two states. Jahnavi is a Senior Fellow at the University of Maryland Center for Democracy and Civic Engagement and graduated from Harvard College with a concentration in Government in 2023.
