Steenbock Professor, Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering. Established the new field of microkinetics as a formidable tool for pioneering new catalytic syntheses and designing catalysts for selectively promoting desired reaction paths. Current work involves studies of supported metal catalysts, mixed metal oxides and zeolite catalysts. These efforts are being directed toward the development of environmentally benign chemical processes.
