Jan M. Ziolkowski

Arthur Kingsley Porter Professor of Medieval Latin, Harvard University. Scholar of the classical tradition from antiquity to the Renaissance who publishes widely on many different literary genres in ways that illuminate and inform our understanding of the humanist tradition, its future, and its past. His expertise ranges from the reception of classical literature to modern medievalism; epic poetry (Virgil) to satire and obscene verse; liturgical chant to folk and fairy tales. Involved in collaborative projects and initiated Harvard Studies in Medieval Latin in 2008 and Dumbarton Oaks Medieval Library in 2010.
